Game 9 Over 35 Men England v South Africa
South Africa's last pair of Steyn and Scheepers pulled their team out of a very susceptible position with a fighting 50 partnership. This still left England in with a better than even chance, but at least it gave the South Africans something to bowl to. And in the end it was enough . . . just. England's last pair needed 45 runs to win, and after 2 overs they had 19 of them. But a runout on the last ball of the 15th over was a serious setback--it left them 20 to score from the last over. With 4 balls to go they still needed 12, but a runout on the penultmate ball and England had just fallen short. Full report later. |
