Australia started exceptionally in the field, taking 7 wickets in the first 3 overs, and New Zealand were struggling from the start. 8 wickets in the second pair, and New Zealand were -16 after two overs. A fine partnership between Kinsella and Baker (37) restored some normalcy to their innings, but the New Zealanders posted a very disappointing 48.
